Our Philosophy

~Natural Style with a Conscience~

We LOVE free-spirited, boho style. But, we also realize the importance to support our planet & all of it's beautiful inhabitants. Butterflymama was born by combining those passions!

Our goal is to give back to the planet, the people & animals. We strive to replenish the earth's resources - giving back more than we take, supporting and encouraging human welfare through Fair Trade and supporting animal rights & encouraging animal protection.

We support the environment by using as many earth friendly, green products as possible; by recycling every item we possibly can; selling products made from recycled materials, vegetable based fabric dye & toys with vegetable based varnish and by offering environmentally friendly hemp, nettle and natural grass & banana fiber products. We package all of our products with as little packaging as possible ~ while maintaining a secure and safe delivery. We use envelopes whenever we can, as opposed to boxes, to minimize waste. We reuse packing materials as much as possible. All paper we use is made from 100% recycled content and we always continue its recycled path. We donate a portion of our proceeds to environmental charities as well as donating our environmentally friendly products to Environmental Awareness programs.

We support human welfare largely through our Fair Trade products. You can feel proud to know that each Fair Trade product you purchase is improving the life of women and children in impoverished regions of the world. The Fair Trade products that we sell have employed dozens of women who would otherwise been destine to work of hard, manual labor. Many would be working construction in a society where there are no power tools and bulldozers. Rather, heavy rocks are carried in baskets on women's heads and exhausting building, digging, etc is all done by hand. By purchasing our Fair Trade products, you are allowing women to work safely, often times at home with their children, further their education and providing them with fair financial compensation for their craftsmanship. We support animal rights and preservation by promoting awareness & providing a broad selection of animal-friendly products. We are huge animal lovers & revolve our lives around animal right's issues. We want to make it easy to buy cool, funky, non-animal based products. We try to offer alternatives to products such as leather & suede bags, leather belts, bone beaded jewelry, etc. We want everyone to see that there are animal-friendly alternatives to these commonly animal-based products. A portion of our proceeds also are donated to animal rights and animal preservations charities.
